I'm fortunate to have on staff several highly qualified and professional wedding officiants including both ordained ministers and notaries, some of the Lowcountry's finest wedding officiants. Each of my colleaques are professional, personable, and dependable individuals, officiants you can count on to provide the very best officiating services. Although each officiant comes from differing religious traditions, each is flexible and open to accomodating your ceremony wishes.
An officiant is secured via Dr. Clarke with the submission of a deposit and wedding information form. Your officiant will contact you within 24 hours of Dr. Clarke receiving the necessary paperwork and deposit. A phone consultation with a potential officiant can be arranged upon request. There is a $100 non-refundable consultation fee if you desire to meet an officiant in person prior to retaining services. If you choose to move forward with services the fee is credited toward the initial deposit requirement.

Dr. Bogue holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, and the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Bogue served as Senior Minister of Presbyterian churches for 14 years. He was the 1994 winner of two prestigious awards granted by Princeton Theological Seminary.

Dr. Robert S. Allen - Myrtle Beach Wedding Officiant

With 30+ years of experience in mental health services and a private counseling practice, Dr. Allen has served many couples seeking to empower their marital health. Dr. Allen and his wife Barbara moved to Myrtle Beach 13 years ago. They celebrate daily their 25 years of marriage and the moment their angel introduced them. Dr. Allen has served his local/church communities as a Community Volunteer Leader, Usher Team, Trust and Endowment Committee, Career/Mental Health Professional, Substitute Teacher, and several national professional associations. Dr. Allen was the primary author of the original draft that led to the licensure of professional counselors and marital/family therapists in SC. Dr. Allen is a Notary Public for the State of SC.
Rev. Bruce Jayne - Charleston, Columbia, & Charlotte, NC Areas
Reverend Bruce Jayne is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. After college he served 5 years as a Navy line officer, and then earned a Master of Divinity degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in a pastorate in Indianapolis, Indiana, for 3 years and then re-entered the Navy as a Chaplain.
After serving in a variety of assignments with the Marine Corps and Navy, Reverend Jayne completed his Navy career in Charleston as Director of Pastoral Care at the Naval Hospital and as Command Chaplain at the Naval Consolidated Brig. He retired in 1995 with the rank of Commander. He then completed a Pastoral Care Residency at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital and began working at Roper Hospital as the Staff Chaplain. He became a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains in 1998 and was named Director of Pastoral Care for Roper St. Francis Healthcare in 2001. He retired from his position at Roper St. Francis Healthcare in June, 2005.
Chaplain Jayne has served on the board of directors of three not-for-profit agencies in Charleston, the Center for Women, Family Services, Inc., and Metanoia Community Development Corporation, and is a Pastoral Associate at his church, the Circular Congregational Church. He is married to the former Sarah Turner. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.

The Rev. Bill Greeley is a native of the upstate of South Carolina. Over the past thirty-two years he served Episcopal congregations and dioceses in South Carolina, Alabama, and Arizona. He was also the founder and executive director of a children’s home near Birmingham from 1987-1995, known as The Holy Innocents Ministry. This Ministry continues to this day as a part of The King’s Ranch in Chelsea, Alabama.
Last year (2009) Bill and his wife, Sharon, moved to Charleston so she could pursue her long-time dream of becoming a nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina. Bill took advantage of his early retirement option, and is currently a full-time student pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling/Psychology. He plans to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Charleston area. He also serves as a volunteer chaplain with the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy, and works as a local hospice volunteer.
Rev. Jackie Clarke - Wedding Celebrant
Jackie is one of my popular wedding officiants. She is also a professional wedding photographer and event planner. She grew up the daughter of a US Army J.A.G. Officer. Jackie holds a Master's in Public Health from Emory University and a BS from James Madison University. Jackie has extensive experience in the professional wedding industry as a professional wedding photographer, wedding coordinator, and wedding officiant. Jackie is Dr. Clarke's partner in life. She is also ordained as a non-denominational pastor assisting Dr. Clarke and the Executive Advisory Team of The Rising Church in creating a new church in Charleston, SC. Requirements for a Marriage License in South Carolina
Bride and groom must appear together and file a written application. This application contains the following information: both persons seeking the contract of matrimony are legally entitled to marry together with the full name of the persons, their ages and places of residence. This is a sworn statement that must be signed by both contracting parties and notarized in the office of the Probate Judge in which the license is to be issued.
There is a twenty-four hour waiting period after the application is made before the license can be picked up and the parties can be married.
Applicants eighteen years old or older DO NOT NEED PARENTAL CONSENT. Applicants between eighteen and twenty-five years old must present one piece of identification. Identification may be one of the following:
A valid driver's license.
Original birth certificate or a certified copy of the birth certificate.
A valid S.C. identification card issued by the S.C. Highway Department.
Current military identification card.
A current passport.
WITH PARENTAL CONSENT males and females must be at least sixteen years old to be eligible for a license. Any applicant under the age of eighteen years old must file an original birth certificate or a certified copy of the long form thereof, which becomes part of the permanent record of application. The parent or legal guardian of the minor applicant must appear at the same time as the minor to present identification and sign a form consenting to the marriage.
NO BLOOD TEST IS REQUIRED.
NO RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT.
There is a $70.00 CASH fee for filing the application.
Only ministers of the Gospel or accepted Jewish rabbis and officers authorized to administer oaths in this State are authorized to administer a marriage ceremony in South Carolina.
A South Carolina marriage license is valid only for marriages performed in South Carolina.
